My style is Abstract Expressionism moving toward Lyrical Abstraction.
I feel, see, hear or think about something natural.
This inspires my emotions which are translated into color on the canvas.
I do not seek equilibrium in my lines or in my brushstrokes.
My paintings are a collaboration of my passion for color, nature, rhythm, life.
The pattern each painting takes comes from emotions and rhythm and their relationship to the colors being worked into the canvas.
I use undiluted acrylic paints for dimension of stroke and intensity of color.
My tools vary: brush, pen, pencil, sponges, cloth, branch, leaf, fingers.
Often I will paint on the floor and use my fingers instead of a brush.
Being directly connected in this way (without a brush between me and the canvas) allows me to more viscerally experience the movement of my painting, its form and my energy.
Where and how I place colors is the choreography of my emotions.
To me, painting is about movement.
I dance with colors through my paintings.
My compositions are inspired by nature and by my spirit's primordial desire to dance.
The colors I use are a barometer of my passion and of my love for nature.
My works are lyrical with a strong sense of calm or a deep understanding of mood expressed through abstract images of the natural world.
My paintings are antidotes to the modern world of chaos, confusion and apathy.
Why do I paint?
I paint to be me and to add joy to the lives of those who view and own my work.
